Do what makes you happy!
Have you ever had one of those weeks? You know one of those weeks where you eat a whole Jack's pizza and a massive bowl of pasta. I hope it's not just me! This is what it has been like here in my world for the past two weeks. Did it taste good at the moment? Yes, it certainly did. Did I instantly regret it when the heartburn kicked in and I felt like crap. Yep! Am I embarrassed to write this? Yep! But I feel the need to be honest. I wanted to feel something so I ate and ate some more. And you know what I was really enjoying caving into my temptations. I was enjoying giving my stomach control because I felt like I have no control over my life. I know I hate my job so much that it makes me miserable and bitter which needs to change so if anyone is hiring please let me know! I know I need to get my butt on track again with my health and exercise.
So you know what I'm doing? I'm taking control back. I'm applying for several jobs. I started eating a little bit better every day. I wasn't perfect and never will be, but little by little I will get back on track. I gave myself a day of pampering where I got my hair done for the first time since last year and man did that feel good. I started writing poems and in a journal again. I blared 80's music because let's face it, you can't help but dance when Footloose comes on the radio, and dancing always makes me smile and laugh. I started to do some kind of working out again every day even if it was just playing basketball with my two favorite guys or going for a walk.
So if you are having one of these weeks do what makes you happy. Call a friend and grab some coffee or wine which is really what I need to be better at it. Blare some music, get your hair done, and go for a walk. You are in control of what makes you happy and we are the only ones who know what we need to get out of a funk. Let's do it!
