Grayson's Reminder

I just got humbled by a five-year-old and was reminded of what this season is all about. Actually what life is all about.

Grayson has this new thing where he comes out of his room after he goes to bed and needs a drink, needs to go to the bathroom, etc. I'm sure some of you are familiar with this super fun routine. Today Elvis has made his presence in our house. Elvis is the name of our mischief elf. He is currently hanging out in Grayson's room in the hanging hammock for stuffed animals, so he's out of reach of little hands that want to hug him. So after putting Grayson to bed, not even five minutes went by, and he was out to ask for a drink. I told him Elvis is watching and will tell Santa that you are not staying in bed and might bring him coal for Christmas. He looked at me and said, "I don't care, Christmas isn't about presents." I then asked him what he thinks Christmas is about and his reply was, "Christmas is about family and Jesus." He then ran into his room to tell Elvis that we celebrate Jesus on his birthday. It was the cutest thing hearing him tell Elvis all about Christmas. They had a five-minute conversation about it. By the way, as I am writing this, Grayson just came out again and said he was hungry. LOL Hearing the true meaning through his little voice made tears come to my eyes and the biggest smile on my face. Jason and I looked at each other and just laughed at the cuteness of it. It really is so simple. Jesus and being around our loved ones is what life is all about. Not just at Christmas, but every day we should celebrate Jesus and his love for us. We should shout it off the rooftops.

I pray that we are all reminded to have that childlike faith today!

Always Smile, Michelle

These photos represent me very well! I am a silly and creative woman who loves Jesus more than anything! In this blog, you will not see perfect.  You will see a girl who loves to write, but when it comes to grammar she suffers.  I am going to be very honest and open with you all.
